There is a tiny button beneath the lid hinge on the right side, which activates the hibernation mode when the lid is closed (my choice). Somehow, the button got stuck in the hole so the hibernation function no longer works. BTW I never had problems coming out of hibernation. Anyhow, I called Dell for repair advice and their tech can't find a document that shows the existence of the button, so they can't help with the repair. Any help here? Thanks.

You can easily remove that grey plastic piece by prying carefully starting from the left side. Push your monitor all the way back first.

The pin which activates the switch is mounted to the hinge cover. You should be able to see what went wrong when you remove it.
